Three subsectors are accepting applications to engage foreign labor, according to the Human Resources Ministry.
PUTRAJAYA: According to the Human Resources Ministry, applications are currently being accepted for quotas to employ foreign workers in the laundry, scrap metal or scrap products, and bird’s nests subsectors.
In a statement on Thursday (Feb 9), the ministry said applications could be submitted through the Foreign Worker Centralized Management System (FWCMS) platform under the FWe Approval module to obtain approval to employ foreign workers from the director-general of the Department of Labor of Peninsular Malaysia, in line with the enforcement of Section 60K of the Employment Act 1955 (Amendment 2022).
It said following an approval, quota applications could be made through the eQuota module. The domestic trade and cost of living ministry and the home ministry, respectively, are in charge of the laundry and scrap metal/scrap items subsectors, which are classified under the services sector. The agriculture and food security ministry is in charge of the bird’s nests subsector, which is a part of the agriculture sector.
