The Director of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis received five units of computer equipment (specifically scanners) from the South Korean Ambassador, Mr. Suh Sangpyo, in order to assist with the Overseas Employment System.
The purpose of the donation was to aid in the efficient handling of the Employment Permit System (E9) initiative, which is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
During a donation ceremony, the units of computer equipment were gifted to the sending country (OEC) free of charge. These computers can be utilized in various ways, including passport scanning. Additionally, both countries discussed outstanding matters related to the Employment Permit System (E9) project.
Mr. Suh Sangpyo, the Ambassador of Korea, expressed his appreciation for the increasing number of job opportunities that Pakistani workers are receiving in Korea through the Employment Permit System (E9). He also stated his commitment to collaborating with Pakistan to further develop and expand the EPS project in the future.
It merits mention that in 2022, about 2,000 Pakistani workers found employment in South
Korea through the Employment Permit System (E9).
